Baysan Yüksel

Born in 1984, Baysan Yüksel graduated from the Department of Sociology at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2007 and completed her master's degree at the Department of Painting at Marmara University in 2010. He has been participating in exhibitions at home and abroad since 2006 and continues his work in his workshop in Istanbul. The artist, who produces interdisciplinary works by questioning concepts such as routines, beliefs, traditions and consumer culture, prefers to use dreams and universal symbols as indicators as they point to the collective subconscious. In this context, he defines his works as storytelling. Painting, drawing, collage, three-dimensional objects, artist books, video, installation and writing are some of his preferred disciplines. All kinds of surfaces; he sees canvas, paper, wall or found objects as tools to convey these stories he has gathered from himself and the outside world.
