Çınar Eslek

The artist's works on canvas, photography, video, three-dimensional installations, and recently fabric, who deal with the body's forces of existence and exposure to action, mostly by using autobiographical references, emerge as visually uncanny, macro-perspective image abstractions. Eslek, seeking the possibilities of doing something together, fermenting and encountering, brought together artists, directors and writers working in different disciplines in the Art Unlimited art magazine in the project called "Aksayanlar". She also focuses on body stories with the XXY file she conducted with Yekhan Pınarlıgil. Crip Magazine was among the participants of the 17th Istanbul Biennial. After completing her undergraduate degree at Mimar Sinan University, Department of Painting, Eslek completed her master's thesis under the title "The Transformation of Bodily Pain as an Experience into a Work of Art" at Marmara University Fine Arts Institute. Contemporary Artists'' (2008, Aksanat) awards. Participating in the İKSV “Cite De Arts” Paris residency program, Eslek's work has been featured in many different publications, video screenings, festivals and collections. The artist lives and produces in Istanbul.
