His works, in which he mainly uses acrylic, watercolor and digital techniques, are closely followed both in Turkey and abroad. In addition to many publications with his illustrations, the artist has a silent book called The Man Who Loves Rain. Ekin Büyükşahin continues to work in her workshop located in Urla. The main protagonists of Ekin Büyükşahin's visual universe are the figures that reflect the preferred simplicity in terms of both emotion and color and form, with which the audience can easily and directly connect. These adult figures, mostly lonely and sometimes melancholic, live in a universe where they can see themselves through their relationship with an object, a place or another figure similar to them. This character sequence derives mainly from the adults' relationship with their emotions. As a matter of fact, Ekin Büyükşahin's recent works include the suppression of emotions as a condition of being an adult and the difficulties experienced in communication between these adults.
