Kazım Şimşek

Incorporating social problems, socio-economic inequalities, urban transformation, political repression, and power mechanisms into his practice, the artist mainly works with various materials and techniques such as ink, oil paint and acrylic on canvas and paper. The first solo exhibition of Şimşek, "Moral", opened in 2022 at Evliyagil Dolapdere. After receiving education at Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty Sculpture Department for one year between 2006-2007, he completed his undergraduate education at the same faculty's Painting Department between 2007-2012. Şimşek, who started her graduate education at Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department in 2016, completed her master's degree in 2019 by writing her thesis titled "How Artworks Represent Social Classes". The artist, who has participated in many group exhibitions, lives and produces in Ankara.
